Ingredients:
- 2 slices of bread (rye or your choice)
- 2-3 tablespoons liverwurst (or liver pâté)
- 1-2 tablespoons mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- 1-2 slices of pickles (dill or bread-and-butter)
- 1-2 leaves of lettuce (optional)
- 1-2 slices of tomato (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Bread:
- If desired, toast the slices of bread lightly to add some crunch.
- Spread the Liverwurst:
- Evenly spread 2-3 tablespoons of liverwurst onto one side of each slice of bread. Use a knife or spatula to smooth it out.
- Add Mustard:
- Spread 1-2 tablespoons of mustard on top of the liverwurst on one of the slices of bread. Adjust the amount according to your taste.
- Add Pickles and Veggies:
- Place the pickle slices on top of the mustard. If you’re using lettuce and tomato, layer them on top of the pickles. Season with a bit of salt and pepper if desired.
- Assemble the Sandwich:
- Place the other slice of bread, liverwurst side down, on top of the layered ingredients to complete the sandwich.
- Cut and Serve:
- Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve immediately.
