  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, or line them with parchment paper.

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Prepare the Cream Filling:
    • In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
    • Refrigerate the cream filling until you are ready to assemble the cake.
  4. Make the Chocolate Frosting:
    • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
    • Sift in the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, and continue to beat until well mixed.
    • Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt, and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  5. Assemble the Cake:
    • Once the cakes are completely cool, place one cake layer on a serving plate.
    • Spread the cream filling evenly over the top of the first cake layer.
    • Place the second cake layer on top of the filling.
    • Frost the top and sides of the cake with the chocolate frosting.
