Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Oven and Pan:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Make the Cake Batter:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
  2. Add the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

3. Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl:

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until well combined and creamy.

4. Assemble the Cake:

  1. Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the cinnamon mixture over the top of the batter.
  3. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.

5. Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6. Make the Glaze:

While the cake is baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.

7. Finish the Cake:

  1. When the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake.

8. Serve:

Cut into squares and serve warm. Enjoy!
