With just 10 ten minutes of prep time, it’s an easy breakfast recipe that works for almost any schedule! This easy quiche recipe is also perfect for holidays or family gatherings … it’s simple, affordable and quick and easy!! 

Ingredients:

For the Pie Crust:

  • 1 1/4 cups (about 155g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick or 113g) unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons ice water

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup broccoli florets, blanched and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups (360ml) milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Pie Crust:
    • In a food processor, pulse the flour, chilled butter, and salt until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, and pulse until the dough comes together. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Roll Out the Crust:
    • On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Press the dough into the dish, trim any excess, and crimp the edges.
  4. Pre-Bake the Crust:
    • Line the pie crust with parchment paper and fill it with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for about 15 minutes. Remove the weights and parchment paper, and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the crust is golden. Allow it to cool.
  5. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
  6. Assemble the Quiche:
    • Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the cooled crust. Add the chopped broccoli and diced onion. Pour the egg mixture over the top, and then sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the quiche is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your Broccoli Cheddar Quiche!
